The beds are finished!

They have been a long time coming but they have been completed. You will see that the beds and the paths are layed. We have opted for a mixed path of pea shingle to try and discourage slugs and snails from venturing into the beds. The bark is to add a natural contrast so that it can create an extra aesthetic. Hopefully as well as the beds, the paths will become habitats of insects which not only pollinate the fruit and vegetables but they can also be discussed and the beds be used as a learning resource.

Today we have planted some red onions and some shallots. Plus we have put in some broadbean plants which have been growing in the classroom for a month or two.

We have started off some tomato plants of different varieties from seed, plus we have some pea plants growing which will go out when the weather gets a little warmer.
