At Portway we are looking for ways to improve our grounds.
We are incredibly lucky with the amount of space that we have. We have decided that the grounds could be put to use; not only to enrich the aesthetics of our environment; but to also provide the pupils with a means of interacting with the environment and reap the rewards of their hard work.
Our plan is to work hard on improving the look of the grounds.
We have been very fortunate to have 1000 daffodil bulbs and 2000 crocus bulbs donated by Derby City Council. The children will be involved with the planting of these bulbs, both their location and planting will take place as a class activity. Photos will be taken as a token thank you towards the Derby In Bloom competition where many of the bulbs planted by the City Council will make Derby a more colourful place to be.
